On March 3, 2008, former President of the Senate,
Honorable Kenneth McClintock awarded the National
Sleep Foundation in a private ceremony at the Senate
of Puerto Rico during the celebration of the National
Sleep Awareness Week.
The resolution was delivered through Dr. Aaron
Marquez, who is the President of American Sleep
Centers, Inc. and the spokesperson for the National
Sleep Foundation in Puerto Rico. Dr. Marquez was
accompanied in the ceremony by Dr. Domingo
Chardón who is also an advocate and has helped Dr.
Marquez with the National Sleep Foundation in
bringing awareness to the puertorican community for
drowsy driving and other sleep disorders.
The National Sleep Awareness Week is celebrated in
Puerto Rico each year during the first week of March
along with the celebration in the United States.
